Postpartum Support International hosts free, live phone sessions every week, including Wednesday chats for moms and Monday chats for dads. During these sessions you can talk with a PSI expert about resources, symptoms, options and general information about perinatal mood and anxiety disorders from the privacy of your own phone. There is no need to pre-register or give your name. These sessions, facilitated by licensed mental health professionals, are informational only and open to anyone with questions and concerns. Limited to the first 15 callers.
Please note: The bridge line will stop accepting callers when the maximum of 15 callers has been reached. Sessions will last approximately one hour. These Chats are not meant to take the place of needed visits to healthcare providers and do not provide therapy.

Chat Facilitators:
Yvonne Moore, MD, MA, FACOG, has been an Obstetrician-Gynecologist for more than 25 years. She is a member of the PSI Board of Directors and the coordinator of “Chat with the Experts.”
Diana Lynn Barnes, Psy.D, LMFT, past president of Postpartum Support International, is an internationally recognized expert on the assessment and treatment of perinatal mood disorders and has a clinical practice that focuses on women’s mental health around pregnancy and birth. A consultant to the media as well as a trainer and presenter on all facets of perinatal depression, Dr. Barnes is the author of The Journey to Parenthood: Myths, Reality and What Really Matters.” She has also written a training manual for clinicians and childbirth educators – Transition to Parenthood- A course for expectant parents.
Barbara Byers, MD, MPH Reproductive psychiatrist, Medical Director of the Women’s Mental Health Program at Georgetown University Hospital, Board Member of Postpartum Support Virginia, and private practice in northern Virginia.
Ann Dunnewold, PhD is a past president of PSI and a licensed psychologist in Dallas, TX. She is co-author of Life Will Never Be The Same: The Real Mom’s Postpartum Survival Guide and three other titles on motherhood issues, and the host of The Sanity Hour on HerInsight Radio Network.
Helen Jones, PhD, RN, APN is a former PSI board member, published author, family therapist specializing in perinatal mood disorders, and Professor of Nursing at Raritan Valley Community College in NJ.
Linda Klempner, PhD is a licensed clinical psychologist and director of Women’s Health Counseling & Psychotherapy in Teaneck, N.J., and PSI Board Member.
Birdie Meyer, RN, MA, CLC immediate Past President of PSI Board of Directors, is the coordinator of the Perinatal Mood Disorders Program at Clarian Health in Indianapolis, IN and a PSI Coordinator in Indiana. She is a Childbirth Educator and is certified as a CPR instructor, Lactation Counselor, Spirit of Care giving facilitator, RTS Bereavement Facilitator, Critical Incident response, and Parish Nurse.
Ann Smith, CNM is a former PSI Board member, nurse-midwife, PPD survivor, lecturer on perinatal mood disorders to health professionals, and coordinator of a postpartum depression support group.

PSI First Monday Chats for Men:
What can I do to support my partner? Am I the only guy who’s struggling with becoming a dad? Join our Chat with an Expert phone forum the first Monday of every month for reliable information, support, and resources.
This is a place where dads, partners, extended family members or other support people, and professionals can find some answers and support from an expert – and from other men. You’ll find honest and compassionate talk about the adjustment to parenthood, information about how fatherhood can affect you, and some helpful advice.

David Miller, MD, PhD is an obstetrician-turned-psychiatrist who specializes in women’s mood disorders with particular focus on Perinatal Mood Disorders. He is a founding board member for Postpartum Education and Support, Inc. in North Carolina, and maintains a private practice in Wake Forest, NC. How to Participate in a Chat with the Experts:
Participants must call 1-800-944-8766 five minutes before the call begins.
The facilitator will end the call if there are no participants by 15 minutes after the scheduled start time.
Dialing-in to the Conference:
1. Use your telephone to dial your toll-free TeleConference number: 1-800-944-8766.
*The following greeting will welcome you: “Welcome to TelSpan TeleConferencing. Please enter your TeleConference code followed by the “#” sign.”
2. After this prompt, enter 87384#
Entering the Conference
After entering the correct five-digit TeleConference code, your immediate connection to the TeleConference may be signaled with an audible tone heard by all Participants. Upon entering the TeleConference, please state your name for the convenience of your other Participants. If you are the first person in the call, you will experience silence until other Participants join.
The facilitator will end the call if there are no participants by 15 minutes after the scheduled start time.
Trouble Accessing Your Conference: If for any reason you are having difficulty accessing your TeleConference, please contact the TelSpan Operator Services Department at: 1-800-937-7726.
Helpful Hints
Leaving and Rejoining a TeleConference: If you have to leave the TeleConference for any reason, DO NOT PLACE YOUR PHONE “ON HOLD”. Simply hang-up and call in again when you are ready to return to the Conference.
Muting Your Line: If you would like to mute your line to prevent background noise from entering the call, press *1 (star 1) on your touchtone keypad. This will mute your line, but allow you to listen to the Conference. Pressing *1 (star 1) again will un-mute your line.
At Conference Conclusion: When the Conference has concluded, simply hang-up. The TeleConference call is terminated when all Participants have disconnected.
Help During the Conference: If you need immediate assistance during the TeleConference, press *0 (star zero) to speak privately with an Operator.
